11-Year-old Dies After Being Shot With BB Rifle

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - LMPD police officers are calling the death of an 11-year-old in Valley Station "odd and tragic." Police say Dallas Barnes died after his 16-year-old uncle shot him as the two were playing with BB guns over the weekend.
It happened in the 9900 block of Donerail Way just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday. LMPD Lt. Barry Wilkerson says the boys were playing with a Daisy Pump BB rifle - the kind of gun that can be dangerous in the hands of unsupervised children or reckless adults.
LMPD Detective Barry Wilkerson called the situation "extremely odd" and says it's unusual for someone to be killed by a single BB.  Read More: Source/WAVE3.com  BB Gun

Palin Slammed As "Wild Alaskan Dingbat" Ater Hitting Grayson In Home District

Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska, ventured to the Florida district of Rep. Alan Grayson on Friday, and urged voters to oust the Democratic lawmaker.

Only Michigan Wolverine Found Dead

SANILAC COUNTY, Mich. -- Michigan's only known wolverine was found dead Saturday in Sanilac County, near where it was first spotted in 2004.
 A pair of hikers found the female wolverine in a ditch near a beaver dam in the Minden City State Game.  Area A Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment said it appeared to have died of natural causes, but a necropsy will be performed at a DNRE lab at Michigan University.  Read More: Source/ClickonDetroit.com  Wolverine

Dog Guards Body Of Ex-Pittsburgh Firefighter Who Was Fatally Shot

PITTSBURGH -- A former Pittsburgh firefighter’s dog guarded his body on the street after he was fatally shot Sunday night in the Marshall-Shadeland section of the city, police said.
Police said Mark Barry, 55, of the North Side, was gunned down around 10 p.m. as he was walking his dog along Mullins Street near Woodland Avenue. He had been shot in the chest.
When officers arrived, Barry's dog was guarding the body, police said.
The flag at Engine Co. 38 on the North Side, the fire house where Barry worked, was lowered to half-staff Monday in his honor.  Read More: Source/WPXI.com  Dog

Japan Earthquake: 6.6 Magnitude Quake Off Coast Of Japan

TOKYO — A strong magnitude 6.6 earthquake hit off the eastern coast of Japan on Sunday, rattling buildings across a broad swath of the country, including the crowded capital.
 There were no reports of casualties, with only light damage to structures near the epicenter, according to local officials.   The quake hit at 5:08 p.m. and was felt most strongly in central Fukushima prefecture about 130 miles (210 kilometers) northeast of Tokyo, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.  Read More: Source/Huffington Post  Japan Earthquake

R.I.P. Peter Graves Dead at 83

Actor Peter Graves Dead at 83
  Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- Actor Peter Graves, best known for his starring role on TV's "Mission: Impossible," died Sunday. He was 83.

  While the cause of the actor's death was not immediately known, he apparently suffered a heart attack, his publicist said.
  Graves had gone to brunch with his family Sunday morning. After they returned home and entered the house, one of his daughters began to wonder why he hadn't come back inside with them, said publicist Sandy Brokaw.
  The family went outside and found Graves had collapsed. His daughter performed CPR but was unsuccessful in reviving the actor, Brokaw said.
  Graves had been in good health and was celebrating 60 years of marriage and 60 years in the entertainment business. He was still pursuing work when he died, the publicist said.  Read More: Source/CNN.com  Peter Graves

A Treat That Could Make Your Dog Sick Or Dead

  Maplewood, MO (KTVI-FOX2Now.com) - The FDA is now investigating a product made by a Missouri company. A dozen pet owners have complained to the Better Business Bureau that The Real Ham Bone caused serious injuries and even death in some cases. The product is sold by Dynamic Pet Products, a division of Fricks Meats in Washington, Mo. One of the complaints came from Melodie Riggs. She bought two of the ham bones and gave one to each of her two dogs.
  "Within one hour they both started violently throwing up and they threw up chunks like slivers of bone," said Riggs. She complained to the company and says they offered her coupons.
