Sparta the Mean Kitty

The videos above are from YouTube, and feature Sparta. Click on them to watch these clever videos his owner has posted on YouTube. He is an Egyptian Mau, though he looks like a Bengal. (Bengals are a cross between an Asian Leopard cat and a domestic shorthair). In one video, you'll notice how Sparta fetches. (it's because they are VERY smart). I Hope you enjoy these short clips.

Another School Shooting

Adult Shoots 2 Students At Middle School in Littleton Colorado

LITTLETON, Colo. (AP)- A teacher tackled a man armed with a high-powered rifle just after two teenage students were shot Tuesday at a suburban Denver middle school that's just miles from Columbine High School, the site of one of the nation's deadliest school shootings, authorities said.
One male and one female were shot at about 3:30 p.m. outside Deer Creek Middle School in Littleton, Jefferson County Sheriff's office spokeswoman Jacki Kelley said. Both students were taken to a nearby hospital and were expected to survive.
Student Steven Seagraves said he was about 10 feet away when an adult approached students and asked them: "Do you guys go to this school?"
When the students said they did, he shot them, Seagraves said.
Seventh-grade math teacher David Benke, a 6-foot-5 inch former college basketball player who oversees the school's track team, tackled the suspect as he was trying to reload his weapon.
Another Crazie with a gun...What's to be done with people that do these kinds of things.  Maybe we should go back to the days when crazies could be locked up indefinitely.  Screw their rights.  What about everybody elses?  Don't we have to right to be protected from these people?

Unlucky?

California Man Hit By Train Twice in 2 Weeks
IRVINE, Calif. — A man who lost his hand after being dragged by a commuter train two weeks ago in Southern California has been hit by a train again.
Police say the man claimed he fell from the platform onto the tracks at the Irvine station and was hit by a northbound train Tuesday morning.
Sgt. Mike Meyers says the man gave the same explanation when he was hit by a Metrolink train at about the same time two weeks ago in Laguna Nigel and dragged 87 feet. His left hand was severed at the wrist.
The sheriff's department investigated the first incident as an accident.
Police say the man was taken to a hospital Tuesday with non-life-threatening injuries and will receive a mental health evaluation.
Geez...what's it gonna take for this man to stay away from trains? Seems to me he ought to take a different form of transportation. Maybe Someone's trying to tell him something.

Olympic News:

Skater Kramer cries tears of golden anguish after disqualification
(CNN) -- Dutch speed skating star Sven Kramer was left in tears after confused communication with his coach cost him a gold medal at the Winter Olympics on Tuesday night.
The 23-year-old was hot favorite to add the 10,000-meter title to his 5,000m victory earlier in the Vancouver Games, and he completed the grueling circuit in what would have been an Olympic record time.
However, his dreams of a double gold crumbled when he was disqualified for an incorrect change of lanes, meaning that the man he was paired with -- Russia's Ivan Skobrev -- won the silver medal and South Korea's Lee Seung-Hoon was promoted to first place.  Read More:  Source/CNN Sven Kramer

Million Dollar Comic Book

It's a bird, it's a plane ... it's a $1 million comic book.
by Annalyn Censky CNN
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Since he started selling comic books at age 16, Vincent Zurzolo had only dreamt of selling a million-dollar comic book.
Monday was his lucky day. That was the day that Superman hit the jackpot.
"It is the single most important event in comic book history," said Zurzolo, who co-owns auction site ComicConnect.com with founder Stephen Fishler.
Zurzolo and Fishler posted a rare copy of Action Comics #1 on their site Monday morning. It was the issue where the Man of Steel made his debut in 1938. They were selling it on behalf of an unnamed collector. Within one minute, Zurzolo said, another unnamed collector bought it for $1 million. Read More: Source/CNN
