 WHISTLER, British Columbia — American Bode Miller finally fulfilled his expectations and won an Olympic gold medal Sunday, using a blistering slalom run for victory in the super-combined.

Religion Teacher Accused of Sex With Student

 AUBURN, Wash. (AP) - Auburn police say a religion teacher at a private Christian-based high school has been arrested for investigation of having sex with a female teenage student.

 Police Sgt. David Colglazier says 49-year-old Scott Spies was arrested last week and booked into jail for investigation of molestation, indecent liberties and sex with a minor. Officials at the Auburn Adventist Academy say Spies has since been fired.

 Colglazier says the relationship allegedly started in February 2009, when the girl was 15 years old, and became sexual last fall. School principal Marvin Mitchell says he spoke with Spies and that he was remorseful.

Wow...I don't want to be a judge here, but it is so sad to see this. I graduated from an Adventist Academy and know how high they hold themselves to be. This just shows that child abuse is not limited to the Catholic Institution, or to men and boys.

 Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- Family tragedy, bad timing and tough competition kept Angela Martin from moving past "American Idol's" Hollywood Week in three separate seasons.
 The 28-year-old mother of a special needs child learned Friday that, despite not making the top 24 again, two "Idol" judges will help get her singing career cranked up.
 Ellen DeGeneres, who is in her first season as a judge, invited Martin onto her talk show to discuss her struggles and to sing. And, DeGeneres said, fellow judge Kara DioGuardi will pen a song for her. Read More: Source/CNN Ellen
And this is why I love Ellen DeGeneres. She truly understands the human condition, and strives always to help others using her fame and clout. I wish others in her position would do more to help those less fortunate than them. Kudos to you Ellen.

Australia Gets Smarter

Australian study uses Cat Food in War on Cane Toad

SYDNEY – Forget cricket bats, golf clubs and carbon dioxide. Australia has found a new weapon in its war on the dreaded cane toad: cat food.
Researchers with the University of Sydney found that a few tablespoons of cat food left next to ponds in the Northern Territory attracts fierce Australian meat ants, which then attack baby cane toads as they emerge from the water. Finally, a solution that uses nature instead of baseball bats to combat a man made scurge. These toads were to solve a problem in the 1930's with beetles. As usual, it was a remedy that wasn't too thought out, which left a problem of an overabundance of these poisonous toads. Hope it works.

What's This? Man Whore???

Change a Man-whore? Don't Bet On It

CNN) -- Two television shows, "The Bachelor" and "For the Love of Ray J," have one thing in common: They both contribute to the glamorizing of the man-whore.
To understand where I'm going with this, let's first define man-whore.
According to Urban Dictionary.com, a man-whore is "someone who repeatedly sleeps with random women indiscriminately without regard to any consequences. Man-whores are mainly found at local pubs, bars, parties, although they can be found anywhere throughout the world."
Man-whores used to be easy to spot, like that old man hanging out in the nightclub, trying to pick up young ladies.

I was having trouble with my computer. So I called Eric, the 11 year old next door, whose bedroom looks like Mission Control, and asked him to come over. Eric clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem. As he was walking away, I called after him, "So, what was wrong?" He replied, "It was an ID ten T error." I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, "an, ID ten T error? What's that? In Case I need to fix it again" Eric grinned..."Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?"
"No," I replied.
 "Write it down," he said, "and I think you'll figure it out."
So I wrote down:
