I have to apologize SOOO much for not posting regularly. I recently became employed, and am working 12 hour shifts, and am so exhausted when I come home. I am entertaining the thought of maybe posting weekly, on weekends. I'm not sure of my readership, but hope that the weekly format will suffice. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Expect the heaviest rains to spread through with the cold front early Monday morning. Most of the Inland NorthWest can expect .25" - .5" of rain with 1.5" or more for the mountains by Tuesday. Most mountain passes can expect rain tonight with snow levels at 4500' or higher.
The strongest winds will arrive behind the front Monday morning and continue through the day. A WIND ADVISORY is posted for SW winds 20-30mph with gust 40-50mph for much of the region from 5:00am - 5:00pm. Temperatures will also drop behind the front. Showers will change to snow for Cascades mountain passes during the day Monday. Snow is expected for all area mountains above 2500' - 3,000' by Monday night.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A West Palm Beach man is accused of leaving his 9-month-old daughter alone in a hot car while he shopped in an adult bookstore, police said.
Rafael Garcia was charged with child abuse and neglect on Saturday.
Garcia told police that he lost track of time while searching for a "sexy outfit" in the store.
Deputies said the infant had a 104-degree fever after being left alone for more than a half hour outside the adult book store on South Military Trail.
The girl was taken to Palms West Hospital and is expected to survive.

Homeowners Sue Couple Who Crashed Into House While Having Sex

LEWISTON -- A northern Idaho couple whose house was damaged by a vehicle has filed a lawsuit against a man and woman who the homeowners say had been drinking and were having sex when the man lost control of the 2003 Dodge pickup last month.
Homeowners Teresa A. Roesner-Weatherby and William Weatherby filed the lawsuit in 2nd District Court against Jonathan J. Schlee and Courtney Zimmerman, the Lewiston Tribune reported Saturday.
The homeowners are seeking a court order preventing Schlee and Zimmerman from being in a car at the same time. They are also seeking damages in excess of $10,000.
Schlee pleaded not guilty to a charge of misdemeanor driving under the influence following the Feb. 28 crash.
The lawsuit says the truck drove through the kitchen of the home and stopped in a nearby yard. Police estimate damage to the home at $50,000.
I sure hope it was worth it....

Axe-toting Man Shot, Killed by Police At California Market

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Police in southern California have fatally shot a man they say threatened an officer with an ax during a confrontation with police at a grocery store.
Witnesses told police the man had been stabbing himself with a knife Saturday night at City Farm Market in Inglewood. A store employee says the man confronted him and told him he "killed people," then tried to stab the employee and walked away.
Police followed a trail of blood inside the store to a walk-in refrigerator in the market's warehouse. Two officers shot the suspect multiple times and killed him after he allegedly came out of the refrigerator wielding an ax and lunged toward one of them.
Police are withholding the suspect's identity pending notification of his family.
More crazies in the world. Wonder what was up with this loonie.

But that was 10 years ago. Now Sanclemente is one of South America's "most wanted." The fallen beauty is on the run; Interpol has issued an international arrest warrant for her.
The woman whose ambition took her from poverty to a life of glamour is thought to be in Argentina. Authorities there suspect she may be the "queen pin" of an international operation that uses models as drug mules to move suitcases loaded with cocaine out of Buenos Aires airport.
"I am convinced Sanclemente is heavily involved in drug trafficking but I still cannot determine exactly what role she plays," one Argentine source close to the investigation tells CNN.

In this clip, Jamie shows kids how chicken nuggets are actually made with the goal of turning them away from processed foods. Watch their shocking reaction.

I watched this show and was impressed by how much Jamie wanted to help these backward uneducated school lunch ladies. It makes me wonder why WHY the health of the children in this school are not the primary concern of the adult school administrators. Such a shame. From what I understand, the people in this town really need to do something different because they are in such bad health and very obese. I truly hope this helps.

Mad Dash As Truck Spills 100,000 Dollars Onto US Street

CHICAGO (AFP) – People fell onto a bag of cash like a pack of hungry piranhas after more than 100,000 dollars tumbled out the back of an armored truck onto an Ohio street, local media reported.
The bag split open after it fell off the back of the vehicle Wednesday and the driver drove away without noticing.
But a whole bunch of people spotted the cash blowing down the street in Whitehall, a Columbus suburb, and a mad dash for cash ensued.
"People were jumping out of their vehicles," one witness told NBC4 news.
"Like when you throw some fish in and you've got a school of piranhas and they haven't eaten for a long time. It was funny."
Another witness described a surreal atmosphere with people laughing, smiling and taking as much as they could carry.
Workers at a nearby flower shop helped police gather up the money in boxes. Several people ended up bringing some of the cash into the police station.
But only about 10,500 dollars had been recovered by the end of the day, the Columbus Dispatch reported.
"We're hoping that more people do the right thing," Whitehall Police Sergeant Randy Snider told the paper.
Police are examining surveillance camera video and photographs from cell phone cameras to try to track down the people who grabbed the money.

Robber Tries To Hold Up Closed Bank

A hapless bank robber fled empty handed when he turned up at the branch - on early closing day.
Baffled staff - taking part in a training session - watched in amusement as he hammered on the door with his gun demanding to be let in, say police in Kirchheim, Austria.
The would-be crook - who was caught on camera wearing his Barack Obama mask - eventually fled to his getaway car empty handed.
"We thought it was part of the training, some sort of initiative test, or a joke. Laughing only seemed to make him more angry," said one worker.
Although closed the staff were still in the bank as they were taking part in the after hours training session.
Police said the Barack Obama raider was about 1.75 metres tall and dressed in a dark jacket with red stripes on its sleeves, dark jeans and dark gloves.
A bank spokesman said: "He wasn't very smart - the bank was robbed both last December and in January this year and we now have really tight security."
Well...he really did his homework. Just another example that STUPIDITY RULES. I guess this time though, it was for the best that he WAS stupid.

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the "Patriotic Retirement Plan"
There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:
1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings...Result: Unemployment fixed.
2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered...Result: Auto Industry fixed.
3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage...Result: Housing Crisis fixed.
It can't get any easier than that!!

Shooting suspect rolls car and is ejected after short police chase.
SPOKANE, VALLEY, Wash. - A man wanted in connection with a February shooting and his female companion were taken into police custody Friday night after they attempted to elude an officer and crashed on Sprague Avenue beneath Interstate 90.
Authorities say 25-year-old Joseph L. Bledsaw, and his passenger 26-year-old Tanya M. Roybal, were both injured when Bledsaw struck a median and rolled their 1997 Pontiac while attempting to flee from Officer Chuck Sciortino and Reserve Deputy Bill Duffy at about 9:10 p.m. Friday.
Officer Sciortino was attempting to stop Bledsaw for speeding, but the suspect took off eastbound from Sprague and Havana at speeds in excess of 60 mph. Police say Bledsaw was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for First-Degree Assault. Bledsaw has a five-year criminal history with a prior conviction for First-Degree Malicious Mischief.
At Sprague and Fancher, Bledsaw struck a concrete median. The Pontiac rolled several times and he was ejected. The car then began burning, blocking the westbound on-ramp onto I-90.
Officers pulled Roybal from the wreckage and determined she was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant.
Detectives had been looking for Bledsaw since a February 27th shooting incident at the King's Square Apartments, at 15917 E. Sprague. On that date, Bledsaw reportedly confronted a man about a noise complaint he had filed with police about a female acquaintance of the suspect.
When the male entered his apartment to end the confrontation police say Bledsaw fired a shot through the apartment wall that narrowly missed a toddler sleeping inside.
Both Bledsaw and Roybal suffered injuries in the crash. Both were transported to a downtown hospital for evaluation and treatment. Roybal was treated and released.
Saturday morning a Spokane County Sheriff's official said Bledsaw is being kept under guard at the hospital while his injuries are being monitored and treated.
The crash is under investigation by Spokane Valley Police traffic detectives.
Glad they caught this guy. I'm glad his little shooting stunt didn't result in the death of an infant, and hope they prosecute him fully. What are people thinking???

Police Report Attempt To Revive Flattened Opossum

(CNN) -- A Pennsylvania man attempted to resuscitate "a road-killed opossum," state police say.
But this was one possum who wasn't playing possum -- the ugly creature remained dead.
Troopers responding to the scene in Oliver Township on Thursday determined that Donald J. Wolfe, 55, of Brookville, was drunk, according to the police report.
Several witnesses observed Wolfe's failed resurrection of the flattened marsupial, police said. It was not immediately clear how he endeavored to restore the possum's life.
The arresting officer in the incident was unavailable for comment Friday. Attempts to reach Wolfe were also unsuccessful.
Wolfe will be charged with one charge of public drunkenness, police said.
I wonder if this guy is going to be embarrassed by his stupidity. I simply can't understand how a person allows alchohol to make them do such dumb things. When he sees his picture plastered everywhere, and his piss soaked pants, maybe it'll create some kind of change. Geez...

Boy Tells Deputies Relative Keeps Him 'Prisoner'

Deputies arrested Cassandra Scott, 40, Thursday night on charges of aggravated child abuse, according to police report.
The 12-year-old victim told a classmate that he had been abused by Scott, police said. The classmate relayed the victim's story to an assistant principal at Gray Middle School.
When deputies interviewed the victim, he told them that Scott accused him of stealing a piece to a GPS unit and handcuffed his hands behind his back as punishment.
The victim told deputies that Scott called him her "prisoner." The boy said Scott kept him in the cuffs throughout the day until his hands were numb and purple.
Deputies noted, in the police report, visible red markings on the boy's wrists. A nurse conducted a medical exam and said the marks were consistent with marks left by handcuffs. Read More: Source/Huffington Post Handcuffs

Northwest: Deputies: 2 Die After Using BBQ To Heat Van

WALDPORT, Ore. -- Two people using a barbecue to heat the inside of their van died of carbon monoxide poisoning off a forest service road in western Oregon, deputies said Friday.
Lincoln County sheriff's deputies said 25-year-old Laureano Calmo-Ramirez and 17-year-old Magdaleno Ramos were found dead about 30 miles southeast of Waldport.
Deputies said the men were picking "minor forest products" on forest service land.
The two men lived in Corvallis and had been missing since March 10. Family reported their disappearance to police March 17 and authorities searched an area near Highway 101 between Waldport and Cape Perpetua the following day.
It's not known when the two men died. Family and forest service officers found them at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
Their bodies have been turned over to a medical examiner's office.
Sorry, no pictures. What a shame that the cost of stupidity had to be paid with their lives, but when will people THINK!!!

Mexican Police Chief Decapitated by Drug Cartel

MONTERREY, Mexico — The decapitated body of the police chief of a northern Mexico town and the body of his brother were found inside the chief's patrol truck Friday, authorities said. Hours earlier, gunmen killed a deputy police chief and his bodyguard in another part of Mexico's north. The body of Heriberto Cerda, the police chief in Agualeguas, was found on the bed of a patrol pickup truck, which was left on a dirt road in the nearby town of General Trevino. His head was on his lap, said a spokesman for Nuevo Leon state prosecutors who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the case. Dog Attack: Vicious Dog Fatally Shot After Biting Man, Sheriff's Deputy

GREEN, OH (WOIO) - A vicious dog is fatally shot after an attack on a Summit County man and Sheriff's deputy.
It happened in the 2800 block of Aldis Road just before 4PM on Thursday.
Officers arrived on scene to find the victim inside a car while the dog - believed to be a pitbull mix - lurked outside.
The dog became violent toward the deputies and bit one of the men on the hand. Some of the deputy's puncture wounds went clear through his hand.
The dog was then killed by one of the deputies after a failed Taser attempt to subdue the agitated animal.
Both victims were taken to the hospital for treatment. Both are expected to be fine.
Officials are still waiting to establish who owns the dog. Charges are pending
I sure hope they find and prosecute the owner of this dog. Why was it loose? What made the dog a dangerous animal? Abuse? It's too bad the animal was the one that had to pay he ultimate price from bad circumstances.

Cuban Earthquake

Havana, Cuba (CNN) -- A 5.6-magnitude earthquake shook Cuba on Saturday.
The quake struck at 1:08 p.m. (2:08 p.m. ET) 22 kilometers (14 miles) below the surface and was centered 44 km (27 miles) south-southwest of Guantanamo, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
"So far, there haven't been any reports of major damages or injuries," a civil defense official in Havana told CNN nearly an hour after the quake. "It's still early."
There were no immediate reports of injuries or major damage in Santiago de Cuba, which is 57 km (36 miles) from the epicenter, but a woman who runs a bed and breakfast there felt it.

Aruban divers to inspect site where couple says they saw human remains.
(CNN) -- An Aruban police dive team will search the site where an underwater photograph was taken that might show human remains, a spokeswoman for the Aruban prosecutor said Saturday.
The picture has renewed interest in the nearly 5-year-old Natalie Holloway case.
Officials first heard of the picture, taken in October by a vacationing American couple, on Thursday, Ann Angela, a spokeswoman for Aruban prosecutor Peter Blanken, said.
"We have received the picture, and the diving team of the Aruban police will start doing preliminary work at the spot where we believe it was taken," Angela told CNN.

Flagrant Dog Abuse

Veterinarians, shocked by one of the most extreme animal neglect cases they have ever seen, are looking for the owners of a Pekinese dog that they say died after becoming immobile, trapped by his own fur.
The male Pekinese was found abandoned and unable to move or walk because of severe matting of its fur in Waltham on March 6. The dog was taken to the Good Samaritan to Kindness Animal Hospital for care but could not be saved and died a few days later.
"This is probably one of the most extreme cases of neglect we've encountered in our practice," said Susan Rosenblatt, chief of staff at Kindness. "We're concerned that there may be other animals in the same household that are being similarly neglected."
The Pekinese was between 9 and 12-years-old, tan and blind in his right eye. The left eye had been surgically removed. The dog's fur had grown and become so completely matted around its body that the dog was trapped within itself.
"The mats were so big and thick that an open safety pin, which appeared on an X-ray we took, couldn't be found after we clipped his fur," Rosenblatt said.
"His ears, which are normally less than 3 inches long, were nearly a foot long with the mats. Matted fur also pulls on the skin, causing a great deal of irritation and pain," she said.
The dog's muscles had atrophied because it was unable to move for so long and his nails had grown in a complete circle because they had not been cut in years, the vets said. The dog's teeth were also rotten and he had pneumonia.
The veterinary staff at Kindness and other animal welfare advocates asked for the public's help to find the dog's owners. A reward is being offered for information. Anyone with information can contact Kindness Animal Hospital at 718-893-2800 or e-mail kindnessah@gmail.com.

Sandra Bullock Pulls Out of London Premiere

"Due to unforeseen personal reasons a trip abroad to support 'The Blind Side' has been deemed impossible at this time," Bullock, 45, said in a statement Wednesday. "I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your continued support of the film."
The scrapped premiere comes amid reports of marital trouble between Bullock and husband Jesse James, 40.
The usually red carpet-shy James had been a constant fixture by his wife's side during the recent awards season, and the pair repeatedly expressed their mutual affection.
Bullock "is old-school Hollywood," James told PEOPLE at the Oscars on March 7 just after her win. "Nobody deserves this more and works harder. I'm so proud of her."

After years of roaming free in New Orleans, however, Abby began to respond to her confinement by urinating just about everywhere other than her litter box. Her owners spent a year trying to change Abby's behavior with no success, so they called Dr. Kenneth Martin, a New Orleans-based veterinary behaviorist also known as the cat "psychiatrist."
Martin treated Abby with a combination of behavior therapy and antidepressant medication. "We gave her the cat version of Prozac and enriched her environment with toy rotation," he says. A massive mudslide in Tennessee completely blocked a road, prompting a local news organization to come for an on-scene report. It's a good thing they did, because they caught on tape this driver just plowing right into the rocks without even trying to brake.

State Sen. Anthony Williams got an earful yesterday during the first of many hearings held to discuss a parent-responsibility bill he's pushing in Harrisburg.
The hearing for Senate Bill 99, which would punish parents for crimes their kids commit, was held at Boys Latin Charter School, 55th Street near Cedar Avenue.
The bill calls for a guardians to serve up to a year in jail if their children are consistently involved with the court system and the parents do nothing to stem the kids' behavior. Some critics said that penalty is too harsh. Williams considered the feedback. Read More: Source/Philly.com New Law

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - LMPD police officers are calling the death of an 11-year-old in Valley Station "odd and tragic." Police say Dallas Barnes died after his 16-year-old uncle shot him as the two were playing with BB guns over the weekend.
It happened in the 9900 block of Donerail Way just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday. LMPD Lt. Barry Wilkerson says the boys were playing with a Daisy Pump BB rifle - the kind of gun that can be dangerous in the hands of unsupervised children or reckless adults.

A pair of hikers found the female wolverine in a ditch near a beaver dam in the Minden City State Game. Police said Mark Barry, 55, of the North Side, was gunned down around 10 p.m. as he was walking his dog along Mullins Street near Woodland Avenue. He had been shot in the chest.
When officers arrived, Barry's dog was guarding the body, police said.

Actor Peter Graves Dead at 83
Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- Actor Peter Graves, best known for his starring role on TV's "Mission: Impossible," died Sunday. He was 83.

While the cause of the actor's death was not immediately known, he apparently suffered a heart attack, his publicist said.
Graves had gone to brunch with his family Sunday morning. After they returned home and entered the house, one of his daughters began to wonder why he hadn't come back inside with them, said publicist Sandy Brokaw.
The family went outside and found Graves had collapsed. His daughter performed CPR but was unsuccessful in reviving the actor, Brokaw said.

A dozen pet owners have complained to the Better Business Bureau that The Real Ham Bone caused serious injuries and even death in some cases. The product is sold by Dynamic Pet Products, a division of Fricks Meats in Washington, Mo. One of the complaints came from Melodie Riggs. She bought two of the ham bones and gave one to each of her two dogs.
"Within one hour they both started violently throwing up and they threw up chunks like slivers of bone," said Riggs. She complained to the company and says they offered her coupons. A powerful winter storm is pounding the mountains with heavy snow. Mostly rain is expected for lower elevations. The heaviest showers for extreme Eastern Washington - North Idaho will be Friday. Mild & sunny conditions return by Sunday.
Traction tires are required over Cascade passes. Up to 8" of snow is expected today with up to 24" by Friday night.
Along the East Slopes of the North Cascades, 3-7" of snow is expected by 10am Friday. This includes Conconully, Blewett & Loup Loup Passes.
Up to 8" of snow is expected for the Mountains of the Okanogan Highlands by 10am Friday. The valleys can expect 1-3". This includes Republic & Sherman Pass.
Showers may taper overnight but the heaviest round of rain will be over the Inland Northwest Friday. There is a chance of valley snow early Saturday morning as temperatures drop just to freezing for Spokane-Coeur d'alene and point north.
This is a bona fide winter weather pattern bringing cold air down from the gulf of Alaska. Plus, moisture is being drawn up from the subtropics. This will keep temperatures above freezing tonight and send Friday's highs into the 50s and 60s.

60 Dogs Rescued From 2 Bedroom Home.

Animal control officers and local authorities arrested Alice Via, 65, on suspicion of cruelty to animals after discovering the 60 dogs in her home in rural East County.
"Living in squalid conditions -- they're kept in crates, basically from what we're told, 23 hours a day. They're left outside for maybe half an hour," said Dan DeSousa, a spokesperson for the county Animal Services Department.
Via lives on 11600 block of Moreno in Lakeside. The dogs were confined in crates stacked several high in various rooms of her approximately 750-square-foot house. They had plenty of food but lacked enough water, according to County Animal Services.
The majority of the dogs are Boxers, some Chihuahuas and a few other dog breeds, DeSousa said. All of the animals were taken to local animal shelters for treatment.
"Many of the dogs have skin conditions, upper respiratory disease or other illnesses,'' DeSousa said."In addition, most ... have injuries to their feet and noses from trying to escape from their crates.''
Via is in charge of an organization called San Diego Boxer Rescue and sheltered animals on her fenced-in property. Officials believe that she had good intentions in sheltering the dogs, but the situation spiraled out of control. "That's not the life for an animal, plain and simple."
Just an example of when good intentions go bad. My question is what WAS she thinking?

NEWARK, N.J. (Associated Press) -- Six women in New Jersey are recovering after they received buttocks-enhancement injections containing silicone used to caulk bathtubs.
State health officials say the women, from Essex County, apparently underwent cosmetic procedures from unlicensed providers, The Star-Ledger of Newark reported.
Investigators have not determined if the cases are related.
No arrests have been made. Instead of medical-grade silicone, the women received a diluted version of nonmedical-grade silicone. State epidemiologist Tina Tan says there's the risk for more serious complications when infections are not treated early.

CNN) -- As much as 16 percent of the U.S. population between the ages of 14 and 49 has genital herpes, according to a government study released Tuesday. And sexually transmitted diseases of all varieties infect 19 million more Americans every year -- a rate that costs the health care system some $16 billion annually, the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) found. The study was released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as part of the the National STD Prevention Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
...Fenton said the high rates of herpes among African-Americans is most likely contributing to the high rate of HIV in that community. In fact, statistics show that people with herpes are two to three times more likely to get HIV if exposed.
The CDC estimates that more than 80 percent of the people who have the herpes simplex 2 virus don't know they are infected. Many people never have symptoms or outbreaks, or those symptoms are mild and mistaken for something else. But transmission can occur without symptoms or visible sores. Manure: In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship and it was also before the invention of commercial fertilizers, so large shipments of manure were quite common.
It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, not only did it become heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a byproduct is methane gas of course. As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen. Methane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOM!
Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just what was happening.
After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the instruction 'Stow high in transit ' on them, which meant for the sailors to stow it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane.
Thus evolved the term ' S.H.I.T ‘, (Stow High In Transit) which has come down through the centuries and is in use to this very day.
You probably did not know the true history of this word.
Neither did I.
I had always thought it was a golf term.

Winter is back...but just for a few days. After a high of 43 this morning (yesterday was 56, normal is 46) temperatures have been sliding. Mountain passes are reporting light snow, but the rest of the region have only seen a few sprinkles of rain...except Lewiston (and point southward) where .23" of rain have been measure so far. Most of the showers are tracking to the south.
This is the first in a series of pacific storms that will push through this week. It's pulling in much cooler air from the north (a true winter pattern). Clearing skies Tuesday will allow temperatures to cool further. By the time the second storm arrives on Wednesday temperatures will be cool enough for snow for most of the Inland NW. Child Found Dead in Vehicle in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS: A young girl was found dead in a vehicle in a Fort Myers parking lot Monday afternoon. Police say her father accidentally left her in the car.
Investigators say 18-month-old Payton McKinnon was left in the vehicle all day while her father, 37-year-old Reginald McKinnon was working at Century Link (formerly known as Embarq) at 1520 Lee Street in downtown Fort Myers.

Teacher Assistant Gets New Car From Anonymous Hero

Burlington, NC -- Monday got a little brighter for one Alamance-Burlington Schools employee.
Pam Warren, a first grade teacher assistant at E.M. Holt Elementary, parked in her usual parking spot near the school cafeteria when she noticed something different. There was a white 2007 Kia with a red bow and "To Ms. Warren" written on the windshield.
She was overjoyed and began to cry, but confused by who would do something so generous.
Warren opened the car door to find a box, filled with money and a letter. The money was enough to pay for the taxes, title and six months of insurance for the car. The letter thanked her for everything she's done for the school.
Warren says she's never owned a vehicle newer than 1980.
Now this is my idea of a random act of kindness. What an example...kudos and good karma for the person who so generous donated this gift.

Well, It's Monday, the start of a new week. Here, where I live, the Spring weather is gonna change to cold once again. I think it's the last gasp of winter. We might even get a little snow.
My new boy kitty is really growing. I have been putting a harness on him, and took him out today while it was sunny and warm, to see how he does with a leash. He is so smart...he's really taken to it. He will be the third cat that I have trained to walk on a leash. They seem to enjoy it as much as I do.
Also this weekend, I watched the movie "Crazies", and as promised, offer my review. I could definitely tell it had a hint of George Romero, but missed the gore that usually accompanies his various works. The plot was predictable, and not once was I surprised. I wouldn't pay to see this movie in a theatre, but would buy the DVD to play on a Saturday night when nothing good was on TV.
My posts today reflect so much with what is wrong with society. From bad parenting, to childlike adult behavior. It is sad that it is only going to get so much worse as time goes on. Moral values that have not been taught to this generation, probably won't be taught to the next. I guess I'm going to have to live in a cave somewhere when the world really goes to shit. Until then, I will continue to bring to light those stories that prove that point.

On Monday, the first in a series of pacific cold fronts will usher cooler, windy and showery weather inland. Temperatures will drop back to seasonal norms all at once and continue to cool through Wednesday. The second storm Tuesday night and Wednesday morning will bring snow to lower elevations initially (here where we live). There shouldn't be much...just enough to say it happened and to remind us that it is winter still. Temperatures warm Thursday and Friday as storms continue to roll in every 24 to 26 hours.

Boy, 14, Shot By 10-year-old Playmate

SWISSVALE, Pa. -- A 14-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital Saturday morning following a shooting in Swissvale, in which police said the suspected shooter was a 10-year-old.
Police said the boys were playing with two small-caliber guns in a third floor bedroom of the home in the 7800 block of St. Lawrence Avenue. The gun accidentally discharged, hitting the teen boy in the chest, the Swissvale police chief told Channel 4 Action News.
“There [were] five juveniles in the house. One was playing with two guns in there,” Chief Greg Geppert said. “One shot the other one. A 10-year-old boy shot a 14-year-old.” Read More: Source/ThePittsburghchannel.com Shooting
I'm a believer in the 2nd Amendmant, but there needs to be better controls. One child shooting another with an uncontrolled gun ought to land the parents in jail.

Alpaca's Death Could Mean Tougher Laws

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WDTN) - The brutal killing of a baby alpaca is breathing life into a stalled Ohio bill that could mean tougher punishment for people convicted of animal cruelty.
Jeff Pergram and Rebecca Hardin owned Masterpiece, a four-month-old alpaca that was beaten to death.
Pergram and Hardin hope House Bill 55 will give them some much needed closure.
Thursday, State Representative Courntney Combs and Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones threw their support behind the bill that Pergram proposed back in 2007.
The bill would increase jail time for second time adult offenders to six months and require counseling.
Pergram says the passage of the bill would mean Masterpiece didn't die in vain.
As for the people responsible for the death of the baby alpaca, Pergram said, "It's all choices we make. They made bad choices. So, now you pay the price, and I want them to pay the price."
Two 17-year-old boys are charged with the beating death of Masterpiece.
Stacie Mullins, 22, is charged with complicity.
Ohio isn't the only state considering stricter penalties.
California is looking into registering animal abusers, just like sex offenders are registered.
This is so sad...Two juveniles...what WERE they thinking? Too bad they won't get a lot of jail time. In my world I think losing a hand or an arm would be justice for beating to death an innocent baby animal. Boy, their parents must be so proud of their parenting skills.

Woman Bitten by Bear at Wis. Zoo, Fingers Severed

MANITOWOC, Wis. — Police say a bear bit off a woman's fingers at a Wisconsin zoo after she ignored barriers and warning signs to try to feed the animal.
The Lincoln Park Zoo in Manitowoc closed after the incident Friday morning. Police say the 47-year-old woman lost a thumb and a forefinger, and two other fingers were partially severed.
The woman's boyfriend was bitten as he tried to pry the bear's mouth off her hand, but he didn't lose any fingers. Her 3-year-old granddaughter wasn't injured.
A mayor's office statement says alcohol played a factor.
It's unclear which of two Asiatic black bears bit the women when she put her hand through their enclosure's fence. Police tell the Herald Times Reporter the bears likely won't be euthanized.
Manitowoc is about 80 miles north of Milwaukee.
They shouldn't even consider euthanizing these animals...maybe they should euthanize the stupid woman.

McDonald's Parking Spot Dispute Turns Violent

LOVELAND, Colo. — A long-running argument over a favorite McDonald's parking spot has resulted in an assault conviction. A Colorado jury on Friday convicted 52-year-old Vernon Brandt of Loveland of felony third-degree assault for a 2008 fight with 85-year-old Richard Albers.
On the day of the assault, Albers walked up to Brandt's truck because Brandt was blocking the spot Albers has been using almost every morning for 16 years. Albers tapped on Brandt's door, and Brandt then swung open his truck door, knocking Albers to the ground. Brandt then allegedly got out of his car, grabbed Albers and threatened to fight him. Prosecutors said the men had argued over the spot before. Sentencing has not been set.
How stupid can people be. What warped sense of values these two grown men must have. They both ought to be given jail time. I can't believe how far people will go, for the dumbest of reasons.

Like many pet owners, husband and wife Dan Wiesel and Alysa Binder always included their animal companion -- a Jack Russell terrier named Zoe -- in their family vacations. Too tall to fit under an airplane seat, Zoe inadvertently limited the couple's destinations to locations within driving range of their Florida home.
But in 2005, Wiesel and Binder decided to travel a greater distance. Reluctantly, they flew Zoe in a commercial plane's cargo hold. "After the plane landed, she just wasn't the same," remembers Binder. "It took almost two weeks for her to seem back to normal."
Out of Zoe's difficulty, Pet Airways was born. This past July, Binder and Wiesel -- previously consultants for startup companies -- launched the country's first and to date only airline devoted specifically to animals. ...by Monday our temperatures are going down and Monday will also bring us a chance of a little rain/snow mix down to the valley floors..... NOT MUCH NOW..... BUT (yes it's a big one).... that cold air on monday will sit there waiting for a second system right on it's tail..... coming into Spokane Tuesday night into Wednesday and that one gives us a little better chance of some valley floor snow Wednesday. Don't panic.... we are not talking about shoveling.... just somewhere between pretty and annoying...... (if it happens). The stuff is way up in the Aleutians right now... but it will be colder... day and night. Soooooooo THIS IS IMPORTANT!! Enjoy today and especially tomorrow.
